May 2011 Quilt Projects

We are going waaayyy back in time to the May quilt group meeting. We don't want to leave these projects out!

Everyone loved this mini quilt from DeLene she shared as part of the trunk show. It is made from scraps and has so many pretty touches - embroidery, buttons, crochet flowers and applique.

Rose brought this colorful fall quilt top.

Valerie shared the completed tile quilt she started earlier. The design is so simple but stunning with the Serenity Prayer in the center and pretty quilting.

Rachel brought the adorable Easter outfits she made for her family.

LeeAnn made a fun bag with pretty coordinating fabrics and a button closure.

Heidi found the cutest flannel for boys at Walmart and made some cute baby blankets and nursing covers.

Kaylene shared her finished basket mini quilt made form little scraps she received in fabric exchange.

This colorful puzzle baby quilt was shared by Rosemary.

Maureen shared this red and green quilt top. The sashing is so pretty and really makes the 9-patch quilt stand out.

Julie made some school bags for the Humanitarian Center and "threw together" a butterfly mini quilt.

I want this soup in heaven

Wellllll ------
the quilt group blog blitz is coming I promise! It just got postponed a little since that lovely snowstorm made canning everything left in the garden a necessity.
And if any of you still have tomatoes left, I posted the link to Roasted Tomato Soup on my personal blog.
This is the tomato soup Donna showed our Relief Society how to make and I think should be served in Heaven.
I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Bring Out Your Inner Sherlock!

Join us for a Mystery Quilt Along at the Tuesday Club!!
We will tell you the supplies you need and what to sew each month.  The pattern will be a mystery.  You will channel Agatha Christie as you try to find out what we're doing!

This quilt works well with scraps as well as being a great leaders and enders quilt!

We are gathering supplies and starting our first step to be completed by the September Meeting.

Supplies:
*3 Charm packs (with a minimum of 40 charms each)
*3 1/2  yards in a solid. This will be for your blocks and the 1st 2" inside border. OR you can also use 3 Moda Bella Solid Charm Packs and get an additional *2/3 yard for the 1st inner border.
*Border 2 - 1 yard in print of choice

1st step:  From your solid fabric, cut 75 – 5” squares.  (approx. 10 strips of 5”)
With one charm and one solid, make a triangle square.
……ooohhh such a mystery. Next step, next month!

Trunk Show by D and D

We loved the Trunk Show brought to us by Delene and Darlene and the many beautiful quilts they brought to share!
These are some of the quilts Darlene showed us. She has the funnest expressive personality and so much talent!

And Delene is super talented, too! We loved her idea for using shower curtain rings to hang small quilts. The clips hold the quilt and the rings can be slipped onto pegs or slipped over a rod to display the quilt! Genius!!

It was definitely "ALL BUBBLES!"

We loved it! Thank you Darlene and Delene!!!
